On Digital Journaling

I’ve had an off-and-on relationship with journaling in general. I’ve been better since I started using the Bullet Journal system, but I’m still consistently inconsistent. I do like paper journals and pens, though.

If there’s one place I’m not fully in favor of using the paper journals, it’s with any kind of long-form writing. That’s where digital journaling comes into play. I just find it much easier to type overwrite when it comes to this scenario.

I’ve been a longtime user of the app Day One for over a decade. But I’m really intrigued by Apple’s Journal app now that it’s coming to the iPad and Mac this year. I have a work trip to the middle of the state coming up in a couple of weeks, and I see this as an opportunity to give this app a test run, especially on the iPad. Between the added security and integration with the rest of the operating system, I feel like this could be a good way to chronicle my week.
