The Listening July 2025, Week 3 & 4
Here’s the list of albums I listened to between July 13 - July 26.

🏆 = Album of the Week
Wet Leg - moisturizer
I loved Wet Leg’s debut. It was sarcastic, yet honest, and even serious when it needed to be. Moisturizer feels like the natural maturation from a band that’s now been through it one go around. The things I loved about the first album are there, but with more courage to be introspective.
Brooke Combe - Dancing at the Edge of the World
From Brooke’s vocals to the band behind her, this album is loaded with late 70s soul and funk vibes. There’s a warmth throughout it, even with the breakup songs. Brooke’s been through some shit though.
Brittany Davis - Black Thunder
Brittany floats between jazz and poetry, revealing just how close these two worlds are. At times, there’s a distinct flow, then it’s abruptly shifted non-abrasively. It all makes sense in the end. Once digested, I found myself bopping my head along to it.
Turnstile - Never Enough
This is an interesting release. Turnstile has this ability to weave between indie rock, thrash metal, punk, and new wave and somehow make it all work. I seriously don’t know what to do with them, but I like it nonetheless. Also, you might recognize “SEEIN’ STARS” from a recent Taco Bell commercial.
🏆 Tyler, the Creator - DON’T TAP THE GLASS
Tyler makes me so freaking happy. This album has 80s vibes all through it and Tyler is weird as fuck in all the best ways possible. This will be in heavy rotation for me.
