The Neighbourhood - (((((ultraSOUND)))))

If you knew anything about Southern California, you could probably tell The Neighbourhood was from there without them ever saying it. They’ve always had this warm, breezy vibe that sticks with them no matter what direction they go in. ((((ultraSOUND)))) keeps that feeling alive, but adds in some R&B touches and a little bit of psychedelic rock, which gives the whole thing a looser, more spaced-out feel.

It’s an easy album to settle into. Nothing feels forced, and the songs kind of unfold at their own pace. You can hear the band trying new things without drifting too far from what makes them sound like themselves. I’ve always liked The Neighbourhood, and this album fits right in with why I keep coming back to them. I personally really like it.
