I hate being sick.

Being sick sucks. A week ago, I woke up with a sore throat and some serious congestion. This eventually was accompanied by a fever and a cough. I don’t know if this was a cold or the flu, but it was something and it kicked my ass for a few days.

My fever broke after about three days, but it took some time for the other symptoms to subside. Even now I can still feel the damage in my nasal passages accompanied by an off smell that I always get when I’m sick, that I assume is the iron in my blood as it always smells metallic.

I hate being sick. I basically put life on hold to fight off whatever’s ailing me. I feel useless, because I basically am. Basic tasks are exhausting, to the point I’ll take an hour nap after doing the dishes. I didn’t write last week as that was also too exhausting.

I can make a list of all the things I didn’t do when I was sick. I’m still picking my place up from it. I finally put clothes away from last week’s wash. I finally cleaned the cat’s litter box. But, I haven’t even put a wish list together for my family since nobody really knows what to get me for my birthday or Christmas. My birthday is in 11 days.

I have a lot of things I want to write about, so hopefully I’ll get to that too. Work has also been exhausting, so I’ve been trying to take a lot of time for myself when I’m at home. I’m mostly cool in that solitude, really only wanting to reserve it for people who don’t wear me out. My recurring theme of peace keeps coming up.

All that said, I’m feeling better. I’m hoping to get into some music and might try sitting still for a movie soon. I need to get back to giving myself things to write about.

Weekly Photo

I tested the macro mode on my phone on my phone this week. One of the many things I’m playing with on the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera system. I love the detail in the fur.

Songs in the Chaos

This is my weekly list of songs that either caught my attention or came to mind this past week. I post these throughout the week on a site called Crucial Tracks, where they’re also added to a playlist on Apple Music. Feel free to follow me on either space.
